Reading tarot with HuggingChat

HuggingChat is Hugging Face's free chat, built on open models. On their own those models improvise tarot like any other; with Familiar connected they call a real shuffle and a real draw. It's the most direct way to read from a real deck without paying for an assistant.

    The prompt that gets closest

Without a deck, ask for one card and one question, and have the model state the card and its orientation before the reading: “Choose one tarot card for this, upright or reversed, then read it plainly.” Open models vary; Omni picks one for each request.

What changes with a real deck

In our test, a plain “Use Familiar to shuffle the Classic deck and draw three cards” made HuggingChat call the shuffle and the draw on its own, and read the three cards that came back. Familiar also returned the cards drawn earlier that day, so the model could note what had come up before.

    Connect Familiar

Sign in with a Hugging Face account, open MCP Servers in the sidebar, and choose Add Server. Paste the Familiar URL, then Authorize with mcp.familiartarot.com. Once it shows Connected and Authorized, keep MCP on in the message bar. The server is saved in your browser, so add it again on another device.
