A real shuffle of all 78

Random Tarot Card Generator

Pull one card or three from a freshly shuffled deck. Keep reversals in, or read every card upright. Each card turns over with its meaning, so you can sit with it here.

How does the random tarot card generator work?

Every draw starts from the full deck: the 22 Major Arcana and the 56 Minor Arcana. The page shuffles all 78 in your browser and turns up the first card, or the first three, so one draw never shows the same card twice.

With reversals included, each card has an even chance of landing upside down. With upright only, every card comes up the right way. The cards you draw are not saved, there is no account, and each new draw shuffles the deck from scratch.

Why not ask a chatbot for a random card?

Because a chatbot doesn't shuffle. We asked five chatbots to draw a tarot card, about 150 times each. A fair deck would have turned up around 67 different cards in that many draws. The chatbots named between 3 and 29, and one of them gave The Star 93% of the time.

Should you draw with reversals?

A reversed card is the same card turned upside down. Readers who use reversals take it as the card's energy held back, turned inward, or slow to arrive. Readers who leave them out let the upright meaning carry every draw. Both are long traditions, not rules.

If you are still learning the 78, upright only keeps each card to one meaning. Once the cards feel familiar, reversals add a second side to each one.

How do you read a one card tarot pull?

One card is the plainest reading there is. Hold a question in mind, or just the day in front of you, and draw. Look at the picture before you read the meaning: what you notice first is often the part that speaks to you.

Then read the meaning and ask where it meets what is happening now. A single card doesn't settle a question. It gives you one clear thing to think with.

For a card each morning, there is the tarot card of the day. For a question that wants a yes or a no, try yes or no tarot.

How do you read three random cards?

Three cards make a short line. The classic reading takes them as past, present and future; another takes them as situation, action and outcome. Read each card on its own first, then look for what joins them: a shared suit, a repeated number, a scene that seems to carry on from one card to the next.

Both layouts, position by position: past, present, future and situation, action, outcome.
